How to find good licensed Assisted Living?
Assisted living provides both independent and dependent seniors with assistance and limited health care services in a home-like setting. Assisted living offers 24-hour caregiving, along with food, shelter, and a wide range of services to promote the quality of life of the individual. While assisted living facilities are residential in character there is no standard model because the consumers' needs and preferences are so diverse.
There are many ways to go about finding the right facility for your needs, but just like any decision the more you know the better choice you can make.
You can start by finding licensed care using the Health and Social services agency website associated with your state below.
These websites will allow you to search for care facilities by city and zip code to narrow your search to a geographic location. Once you have found the facilities in your town or city you can narrow it down even further by the size of the community. Once you have a smaller list you can call to find out the rates they charge to determine if the monthly rate is within your budget. Now you are ready to take a tour of the facilities that meet your size and budget criteria.
